Week 8: Editing

Wow! Editing. I liked learning, or I should say, I enjoyed being exposed to some tools used for editing. Plus, I also appreciate the demo we had in class with Adobe Express.
Last weekend, I tried to see what I can do with editing tools and made a 30 seconds video. I don't know if it is my ambition to make it perfect that got in the way, but it took me at least four hours to come up with something tangible.
After trying out these edtiting tools, I have learned to respect each and every piece of edited videos and movies out there. I can only imagine how much editing goes into making a movie like Pan's Labyrinth for instance. And on top of that, I believe the mise en scene takes a huge amount of time.
Lastly, I cannot wait to see the outcome of our film project after the editing part. Learning, editing, has helped me to see that it is the most important part of film making. Editors choose where and when to inlucde a piece of photo, video, text, sound track, logos, etc. on the timeline. A movie story can be good itself, but if we have mediocre editing, people will lose their interest in viewing our product.
