Week 13: Jaws

Week 13 was one of my favorites because we had a media watching that I really appreciated and served as a great illustration of what I've learned in this course. "Jaws" was the movie being watched. This class enjoyed watching the movie. It helped me to realize how filmmaking has evolved. I would say that the fact that everything was well-organized, presented in an understandable order, and had excellent acting really pleased me.
The film was fantastic all around. It was incredible to observe a sheriff, a marine biologist, and a seafarer together toward the same objective. What made this movie's scene even better was the inclusion of all three acts. In the first act, beachgoers were having a good time, but there was a problem: a shark was engulfing and devouring individuals. The sheriff is the only official who appears to care about beachgoers' safety in the second act, and he struggles to persuade the mayor to close the beach. The sheriff, marine biologist, and seafarer go on a search to kill the shark in the third act.
Jaws was a wonderful illustration of everything I studied in Film 100 for this semester. Even the pictures taken from the sea were presented quite well. Sincerely, I did not anticipate such flawless visuals in a 1970s movie. Additionally, I've learned in this class to value filmmaking even when a film is quite old. The most striking aspect for me was how natural it felt in terms of the victims of the attacks and all the shooting angles.
